This significant milestone underscores our commitment to delivering high-speed, reliable internet access to communities throughout Central Alabama. This growth particularly covers rural areas, where broadband options have historically been limited.

Established as a subsidiary of Central Alabama Electric Cooperative (CAEC), Central Access embarked on this mission to bridge the digital divide in 2019. Over the past 6 years, we have made substantial investments in the communities we serve by deploying state-of-the-art fiber-optic networks to ensure residents and businesses in Central Alabama have access to top-tier internet services.

"Reaching 20,000 subscribers is a testament to our dedication to enhancing connectivity in our communities," said Tom Stackhouse, President and CEO of CAEC and Central Access. "Our goal has always been to provide our members with the tools they need to thrive in today's digital world and this achievement reflects our progress toward that objective."

Central Access offers symmetrical internet speeds, ensuring that download and upload speeds are identical—a crucial feature for activities such as video conferencing, online education, and remote work. With plans ranging from 300 Mbps to 2 Gbps, subscribers can select services that best meet their needs.

As we look to the future, we remain committed to ensuring our infrastructure meets the evolving needs of our subscribers. "Our journey doesn't end here," added Stackhouse. "We will continue to innovate and invest in our network to ensure that all our members have access to the high-quality internet services they deserve."
